This is triggered by W=1 build

        make W=1 O=build_dir ARCH=i386 olddefconfig
        make W=1 O=build_dir ARCH=i386 SHELL=/bin/bash kernel/gcov/

The detail step is at [1], hope it can help reproduce the issue
