I have tried to write de line:

append = "mem=128M"

in the lilo.conf and then run lilo in order
to use all the installed RAM, but without
success. I have followed several directions
from the RedHat http pages but unfortunately
I can't fix it.

How can I mend this problem?
Thank you very much!

try something like:

image=/boot/vmlinuz
        label=Linux
        root=/dev/hda1
        read-only
        append="mem=128m"

note that there are no whitespaces after 'append'.
