[1.] One line summary of the problem: 4.1.4 -- Kernel Panic on shutdown [2.] Full description of the problem/report: I've had all kernels since 4.1 go into panic mode when I initiate a shutdown from the display manager. Until 4.1.4, there's been no indication of why it crashed, but tonight 4.1.4 crashed with the kernel panic message attached. Note that I've copied the panic message manually, so there may be errors. [3.] Keywords (i.e., modules, networking, kernel): slub.c [4.] Kernel information [4.1.] Kernel version (from /proc/version): Can't get version from /proc/version because it's not now the running kernel, and I don't want to boot up that kernel again because it always crashes on shutdown (and doesn't do my filesystems any good). Kernel was compiled by me from 4.1.4 source, downloaded today, and PGP signature checked and found correct. [4.2.] Kernel .config file: Attached as ".config". [5.] Most recent kernel version which did not have the bug: 4.0.9 [6.] Output of Oops.. message (if applicable) with symbolic information resolved (see Documentation/oops-tracing.txt) Attached as "khufu-bug-4.1.4-201508042200.txt". [7.] A small shell script or example program which triggers the problem (if possible) N/A [8.] Environment [8.1.] Software (add the output of the ver_linux script here) Attached as "ver_linux_out.txt". [8.2.] Processor information (from /proc/cpuinfo): Attached as "cpuinfo.txt". [8.3.] Module information (from /proc/modules): Not sure if this is relevant, considering that I'm not running that kernel. Please ask if you need it. [8.4.] Loaded driver and hardware information (/proc/ioports, /proc/iomem) Attached as "ioports.txt" and "iomem.txt". Note that these are taken with kernel 4.0.9. [8.5.] PCI information ('lspci -vvv' as root) Attached as "lspci.txt". [8.6.] SCSI information (from /proc/scsi/scsi) Attached as "scsi.txt". [8.7.] Other information that might be relevant to the problem (please look in /proc and include all information that you think to be relevant): Again, ask if there's anything you need. [X.] Other notes, patches, fixes, workarounds: System is Debian testing, up-to date. Please ask if you need any more info.
