Hi,

could anybody please confirm this cannot happen?

hugetlb_fault()
-> spin_lock()
-> hugetlb_cow()
   -> alloc_huge_page()
      -> vma_needs_reservation()
         -> region_chg() (either of the 2)
            -> kmalloc(*, GFP_KERNEL)
