Hello all,
I am a linux newbie.
Can anyone tell me what is the default base page size supported by
ia64 processor on Linux?
And can we change the base page size to some large page size like 16kb,64kb....?
and how to do that?

16KB

Yes, via kernel config option. Select "processor type and features",
then "page size". You can select 4K, 8K, 16K, or 64K.
In the future, it's best to direct such question to ia64 mailing list:

When configuring your kernel before compiling it, it is the option
Processor type and features
Kernel page size

Hi,
this is a compile time configurable property (kernel compile time), and
can be 4k, 8k, 16k and 64k, whatever you decide on. It's a kernel
configuration option because there is no "one right size" basically...
so you get to pick when you compile your kernel.
Hope this helps,

Default page size for Itanium is 16K
> And can we change the base page size to some large page size like 16kb,64kb....?

You need to rebuild the kernel to change the default pagesize. Run
"make menuconfig"
and choose the "Processor type and features" menu entry, 3rd entry
down on that menu
is "Kernel page size". You can choose 4k, 8k, 16k or 64k.
