With many more single subscriber delivery attempts now bouncing legitimate mailing list messages, the overhead of scanning bounces for actual problems just isn't worth it anymore. For years the number of bounces caused by @gmail.com email addresses has been excessive. Due to the random nature of the bounces (the same email is delivered fine to hundreds of subscribers but then bounces for several dozen) means that delivery of messages to gmail is basically a roll of the dice. Sadly, it is impossible to reach any humans that can help with this issue as the "platform" gmail is run on makes it impossible to reach humans that can help fix the issue. At this point in time I believe it is better to admit outright that mailing list messages cannot be delivered to @gmail.com subscribers than to pretend that those emails get delivered reliably. Hopefully action this will result in some kind of acknowledgement of the issue by one of the world's largest email providers. Regards, -ben -- "Thought is the essence of where you are now."
