Oh damn, I just found this randomly while wondering if this series was
going ahead - you forgot to CC me here! I don't mind the extra bits, I
think this makes sense, splitting it out would imply a different path
for merging.

FWIW, I don't mind using some non-personal tree location for this, but
that's something that can be done independently if it's needed.
