I'm sure you mean CONFIG_TRANSPARENT_HUGEPAGE ?

LGTM. I'm surprise we even have VM_NOHUGEPAGE on kernels ... without 
THP. I mean, as you say, even setting MADV_NOHUGEPAGE does not wrok.
